Circulating Collections
Shawano County Library offers a wide-range of items to checkout such as books, magazines, music CDs, audiobooks on CD, movies, and binge boxes, as well as a collection of digital books, audiobooks, and magazines through Overdrive/Libby.
All six locations offer Early Literacy Kits for checkout, as well as a Library of Things collection of non-traditional items, such as puzzles, boardgames, cake pans, and more!
Chromebooks
Chromebooks are available to checkout at all locations. Chromebooks can be checked out by patrons 18 and older with an account that is in good standing. Chromebooks check out for 14 days.
Copying & Printing
- $0.25 per page to copy or print
- Black-and-white copying and printing is available at all locations.
- Color copying is available at the Shawano location.
- Color printing is available at the Shawano location.
Delivery Service
Homebound individuals, businesses, and organizations are eligible to receive a monthly delivery service from the library. Each month, a fresh batch of materials is delivered to you for your use. The Delivery Service is based at the Shawano location, and any Shawano County resident can join delivery by calling 715- 526-3829 .
Email Notifications
Overdue and holds notifications can be sent by email. Please see a staff member to set up email notifications.
Escape Room
A physical adventure game in which a group of players work together to collect clues and solve puzzles. Call 715- 526-3829 to schedule an escape room experience for your group at the Shawano location.

- Fax services are available at the Shawano location.

Hotspots
Hotspots are available to checkout at all locations. Hotspots provide temporary internet connection for up to 15 devices. Hotspots check out for 14 days.
Internet
Public computers with internet access is available to the public at all locations.
Library Cards
Library cards are available free of charge to anyone. A replacement fee will be charged for lost or damaged cards.
- Photo ID and proof of current address are required to obtain a library card
- Photo ID may include: driver’s license, state ID, tribal ID, student ID
- Proof of address may include: mortgage/rental papers, utility bill, printed checks
- Parent or legal guardian must be present when children (15 years and younger) apply for a card
You may apply for a library card in-person or through self registration.

Meeting Rooms
Three meeting rooms are available for community groups during regular library hours at the Shawano location. See our Meeting Room Policy for more information.
- No fee for non-profit groups with tax exempt number on file
- Profit groups are charged $20 for 1-3 hours or $40 for meetings over 3 hours

The following newspapers are available on microfilm at the Shawano location:
- Volksbote-Wochenblatt 1897-1935
- Shawano County Advocate 1881-1934
- Shawano County Journal 1859-1951
- Shawano Evening Leader 1934-1991
- Shawano Leader 1991 – May 2010
Other microfilm can be requested from the State Historical Society through interlibrary loan.
Online Payments through eCommerce
Fines or fees over $5.00 can be paid online through your InfoSoup account with a credit card or dual debit/credit card.
Programs
Programs for children, teens, and adults are offered throughout the year at all locations. Please see our calendar on the Programs & Events page or Events on our Facebook page for a current listing of programs. Programs are free to attend.
SARA
SARA, a Scanning and Reading Appliance, is available at the Shawano location for the visually impaired.

Scanning services are available at the Shawano location.
Tax Forms
Tax forms and instructions are available online:
A selection of hard-copy tax forms is available in the library from mid-January through April.
Text Notifications
Text notifications are available through Shoutbomb. Patrons receive notifications for holds that are available to pickup and items becoming overdue soon. Items can also be renewed through Shoutbomb. Sign up for text message notifications here.
Wireless & Mobile Printing
All branches, except Birnamwood, currently offer wireless and mobile printing.

- From a mobile device, down the app at either:
- Enter your email address.
- Enter the activation code emailed to you.
- Choose from several options to print. Options may require authorization to access your files.
- After you have selected the file for printing, enter the location of your village or city’s library by choosing the nearby option.

WiFi
WiFi is available at all locations, and also extends outside. Use the “LibraryGuest” network.
